In “History of astronomy from the early 20th century to the early 21st century,” I explained how Modified Newtonian Dynamics tried to explain, and Verlinde gravity succeeded to explain, galaxy rotation curves. Here, I provide the details. Verlinde connected the expansion of universe with galaxy rotation curves. Therefore, I included the article on the expanding universe in this section, even though it could as well have belonged to another section. I was convinced that Verlinde gravity was correct, when I found out that Verlinde had derived Tully-Fisher relation.
